Founded in 1968 in Dallas, Texas, the Texas Longhorns Soccer Club is the oldest select soccer club in Texas and the southwest. The club was established as a 501c.3, or non-profit, organization. TLSC was the first select soccer club in the area to successfully add girls’ teams to an established boys’ club organization. TLSC founded the Dallas Cup, Inc. in 1980, which has become one of the most prestigious international youth soccer tournaments in the United States. Today, TLSC is home to thousands of alumni who still call themselves Longhorns, but more importantly they have laid a solid foundation in the development of youth soccer in North Texas.
AYSES, Advanced Youth Soccer Educational System, was started by Sammy Olali in 1999. Fashioned after European soccer, Sammy and his coaching staff have tailored the program to meet the needs of American youth. The AYSES have always based their philosophy on the development predicated on playing possession soccer, which requires highly technical skills; An environment that is fun and encourages risk taking and creativity; and to recruit families that look at the big picture and will not leave the club as their kids improve.
