10 Questions with... TOM STANLEY
1- What was the last book you read? Piercing the Darkness – Frank E. Peretti
2- What is the most unusual sport you have ever played? Whirlyball has to rank up there pretty high on the list. Someone was pretty bored when they thought that one up.
3- If you could change careers right now, what would you do? Not sure. My current career allows me the flexibility to spend the time coaching the kids and still provide a fairly good living for my family. I could also see myself as a Veterinarian, if I had to do it all over again.
4- Name 5 people you would like to invite to dinner? Abraham Lincoln, The Apostle Paul, My Wife, Ronald Reagan and finally Donald Trump so he can pick up the tab while we make him sit at the kid’s table make fun of his hair.
5- What word makes you laugh? How about the phrase; “Temporary Tax”
6- What word is not in your vocabulary? The compound word “can’t” IS NOT in my vocabulary. In fact, my kids are not ever allowed to utter it in my presence.
7- What advice do you offer about youth in soccer? Set your goals high but make them appropriate. A player doesn’t develop while sitting all year on the bench of a great team. He or she needs to be on the field as the game is the best teacher. Find your level and then grow within it and find a coach that has your personal, best interests at heart and not his own.
8- Name your favorite cereal? Politically correct answer: Raisin Bran. Private Guilty Pleasure: Cap’n Crunch
9- Mustard or Mayo? Mustard good, Mayo evil…
10- Who is the person you admire the most? Christ, My Savior – none other…
